name the country and your task to answer the question "What is the
capital of this country?” Great Britain- London, France-Paris,
Germany-Berlin, Canada-Ottawa, Vietnam-Hanoi, The USA-Washington D. C.,
Australia-Canberra, Italy-Rome, Spain-Madrid, China-Peking,
India-Delhi, Russia-Moscow, Egypt-Cairo.
2. Right you are. You know the
names of many countries and the capitals of these countries.
Now, what can we tell about these
countries and continents. Representatives from English-speaking
countries speak, please.
- As far as I remember, Ann,
English is your favourite subject!
- I know they do. By the way they
say that English has become an international language in the 20-th
century.
3. So, your task was to prepare and
ask only one question about the country they live in. If will speak
about these countries we should repeat some words and word-combinations

"upside-down country”. Why is it so?
And it is interesting to know that Australia has an extraordinary collection
of birds and animals. Many of them live only there. There are more
than 40 different kinds of kangaroos in Australia.

think English is the most popular language nowadays. People speak
English all over the world. In Russia and France, in Germany and Italy, in Spain and Egypt people learn language as a
foreign language.

practically everywhere if you speak English. In most of the countries
people speak English and their native language of course.
3. - Washington D.C. was founded in 1790 and was named after the
first US president, George Washington.It is
situated on the north bank of the Potamac River. D.C. means District of Columbia. When George Washington picked
the place for the capital, he called this place of land after
Christopher Columbus.
- Winter comes inJuly and summer begins in December.
During the Christmas holidays people often swim and surf in the ocean.
Australia is one of the hottest places.
