II. Работа с текстом, сопровождающаяся
The Cadet Corps present interesting pages in the history of the home
system of education. The importance of their pedagogical experience concerns not only
military sphere. The matter is that Russian Cadet Corps have been planned not only as the
specific military schools but as educational establishments for upbringing of cultural and
well-educated people too.
Though the first cadet corps was created in 1732 it was connected with the name of
Peter I. And the aim of the Cadet Corps creation at those times
was just the same: to make conditions for good life, development and education of children
from the needy, single-parent families and those ones with a lot of children.
Only children of the noble origin from thirteen to eighteen could
study there. They learned arithmetic, geometry, artillery, drawing, fortification,
fencing, horse riding, etc.
The general tendencies of education were based "on love to God, devotion to
Motherland, on realization one's debt towards the family". The creation of museums,
visiting of battle places, celebration of the heroes was encouraged.
The special attention was paid to healthy food, convenient clothes, spending much time
outdoors and being neat.
By 1917 twenty nine Cadet Corps had been opened where ten thousand cadets lived and
studied. A great number of outstanding personalities left the Cadet Corps. Among them
there were such remarkable people as M.I. Kutuzov, P.S. Nakhimov, F.F. Ushakov, M.I.
Tukhachevsky, I.F. Krusenshtern, A.F. Mozhaisky, S.I. Mosin, B.S. Stechkin, A.I. Kuprin,
V.I. Dahl, N.N. Karamzin, V.V. Vereshchagin, P.K. Klodt, A.N. Scryabin, V.V.
After February revolution of 1917 the Cadet Corps were reorganized into the military
department grammar school and in 1918 they were closed.
the Soviet Union disintegration was accompanied by unprecedented
accidents and catastrophes such as Chernobyl Atomic Electric Station catastrophe, series
of the destructive earthquakes in Spitak (Armenia) and Sakhalin, train
smashes, sea-liners and submarines crashes, etc.
It was clear, that the local authorities wouldn't be able to
cope with such massive destructions. In order to coordinate
actions on liquidation of demolition consequences and other extreme
situations the Russian Emergency Control Ministry (EMERCOM) was created. At the present
moment it is one of the most skilled, mobile, technically armed and
well-organized rescuer services in the world.
There was an urgent need in well-qualified and trained staff.
So, the Academy of civil Defense and other specialized educational
establishments of this kind appeared. A rescuer is supposed to be not
only skilled and physically-trained but he also should be brave, resolute, selfless, kind,
feel compassion to people who are in trouble, and be ready to help.
All these qualities are cultivated in the Cadet Corps.
That's why a great number of the Cadet Corps were restored in our
Motherland at the end of the XX century. This type of educational establishments suits
very much the purposes of the new Russian army, militia and rescuer service personnel
training. the cadets of the past brought much to the history of Russia. Now it's the turn
of the new generation.
The number of rescuer schools grows up annually in our country. And it is obviously
seen that such schools can be a good basis for shaping of patriotic, skilled and humane
citizens of our native land.
Our Cadet Corps of EMERCOM was opened on the 3d of October 2001 according to the
region Administration order. It is situated in Plotnikovo, Promyshlennovskiy district
Anyone can enter the Cadet Corps when he finishes the ninth grade and has a basic
School Certificate. He is to pass two exams, such as Mathematics and Russian.
In the Cadet Corps of EMERCOM one should learn not only compulsory
subjects of the curriculum, but some additional ones concerning
professional training too. The curriculum includes also the first medical aid training,
means of radiation and chemical protection, the theory and practice of civil defense, the
basis of preparation for a military service, saving on waters, diving, parachute jumping
and psychological training. So, it is clearly seen that much attention is paid to the
defense-sporting education of the cadets which is an integrate part of
the early professional educational program.
About one hundred and twenty teenagers study in the Cadet Corps. they come from
different parts of Kuzbass as well as from Altay Region. in 2006 the boys from Mongolia
left our Cadet Corps and returned to Ulan-Bator. Some of them work in the Mongolian
rescuer service. They were fond of their studying in Russia and very grateful for their
teachers, tutors, officers, doctors, optional subject
teachers and cooks. In their letters the boys thanked them for love, care and help.
The Cadet Corps includes a school-building, a hostel, a library, a canteen, a gymnasium
and a small hospital. All these buildings stand separately.
We also have a stadium, a special training ground with a
fire-tower, a parachute-tower, a ground for learning the
fire-engines and other equipment.
The cadets train on the drill-ground in order to look straight, brave,
and handsome and march well.
From the very beginning the cadet life seems to be very hard. Every day begins with the
morning outdoor exercises in any weather. then they have breakfast and go to school. At 2
p.m. they have dinner.
After dinner most of the cadets have individual classes with their teachers.
At 4 p.m. they have optional studies such as singing, painting, dancing, football,
volleyball, ski, etc.
From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. they are preparing their homework.
They have supper at 8 p.m. and go to bed at 10.30 p.m.
Sometimes it is very hard to overcome all the difficulties, but
friendship and desire to have good education help the students to cope with all the
However, the overwhelming majority of the guys leave our corps
successfully with the warm memories. Our school-leavers write us, come to the corps as if
it were their native place, meet the present cadets, have talks with them, tell them about
their future occupation, about everyday life and plans, give advice, concerning
their attitude to the studies and their behavior. All these conversations impress the
the pedagogical collective: teachers, a teacher-psychologist, tutors
and a social teacher work in the corps for the moral support of the cadets, correcting
their behavior and cultivating kindness, humanism, feeling of the crew.
All they try to compensate lack of the parental guidance.
Our pupils grow up and become strong spirit and deft men, ready to
show their results.
On the sport and specialized grounds the cadets demonstrate their skills. They show the
skills of fighting with fire, pulling the injured out of the burning car,
evacuate them on the stretcher in a safe place.
The young rescuers unwrap a fire hose line,
professionally operate with the water jet, storm the fire-tower, work in the uniform of
chemical protection at the "contaminated" district, and give
the first medical aid to "the injured".
All the received knowledge is consolidated in the summer
military-field camp. At the end of the studies the cadets take special examinations and
all who will pass them get "a Young Rescuer Certificate".
We wish the cadets much success in the studies and future life and we would like to see
them in the ranks of the professional rescuers – physically and
mentally skilled, selfless and courageous people.
We don't pretend all our guys to be rescuers or military men. But we sincerely want
them to be skilled specialists in any field of activities and simply good people loving
their Motherland and devoted to it.
