Ход урока

I. Организационный момент

- We continue talking about famous successful people. You will discuss what you should do to be successful. Besides, you will have real examples of such people.

II. Фонетическая разминка

- But first we will correct your pronunciation. You know the words in English have different number of syllables. That is why the words have stresses on different syllables. Open your books at p. 95. In ex. 8 there is a list of words having stresses on different syllables. Listen to the words and read them after the announcer. Then read the words yourselves.

III. Речевая разминка

- Let's revise the new words we learnt at the previous lesson. Look at the blackboard. Match the two columns of words to make up word combinations.

— Well, I see that you can use the new words. .   - What can you say about successful people? What qualities do they

own? Write down the list of words which characterize a successful person. Start writing, please.

- Now in pairs share your ideas and report to the class. Use the example in ex. 9 on p. 95. (We believe that a successful person should be ambitious, smart, intelligent, creative, hard-working, independent, sociable, tolerant and industrious.)

— What about you? Would you like to become a successful person? Why? Have you got all necessary qualities? Or maybe you need to improve something? Think about and say what traits of your character you should develop to become a successful person. Maybe you need to get rid of some traits of character. See the example in ex. 10, p. 96 and give a full answer.

- Let's read about really successful people. Look at the photos on pages 96-97. Do you know them? Can you say what they are famous for? Then you have an opportunity to do it now. Choose one ofthe texts in ex. 11, p. 96 and read it. Be ready to answer the questions of your classmates.

Учитель распределяет тексты между учащимися. Прочитав свой текст, школьники готовят вопросы одноклассникам по содержанию прочитанных ими текстов.

2. No, there isn't. (Yes, there is. Their contribute into the people's lives is great. They worked not for money but for other people.)
