Today we are celebrating our day of Innovation and Creativity. You
will see useful and funny projects of other people and demonstrate
yours.

CLEVER TOILET
Traditional Japanese toilets don't have a seat at all (they are holes

CAPSULE HOTELS
Since so many people live in Japan, they have little place. In big cities, like Tokyo,

experts are all of you . Each group should fill in an avaluation card.
Activity:
Pp present their inventions using the visual support they have prepaired
at home.Make sure that Pp fill in their evaluation cards during the stage.
Allow a couple of minutes for Pp to collect their thoughts and decide
on the best invention and think of the arguments individually.Tell them
to use the evaluation cards.
Open the discussion. Pp take turns to give their opinions and provide

Pupils’ projects
1. A crib –T-shirt
You should sew a pocket out of a transparant cloth on the back of your
T-shirt and put in it a neseccary crib, for e.g.” The table of
irregular English verbs”. You can also write with a marker "The table of
English tenses” just on the shirt. But these cribs are not for you but
for your friend!
2. A crib – book
This crib is only for you.You can cut out ‘a door’ at the back of
your workbook or a copybook and put a crib in ‘the door’. To use it you
should be very careful. The teacher can easily notice it! But I
hope while you are writing this crib you will remember a lot and won’t
need to open ‘the door’!
3.A cork holder
You will need several corks from bottles.Cut the rings 5 mm wide out of them.
Then glue them with equal intervals along the upper edge of the blackboard.
Your teachers will be very glad to use these cork holders for hanging maps, tables, posters, pictures and so on.
4. A school bag of newcomer
Sometimes you have to change a school or a class. This invention will
be useful for not so strong and confident boys and girls. You should
attach a transparant plastic pocket on the outside of your schoolbag. The
boy can fill in the pocket the portrait of the famous boxer with an
inscription ‘My elder brother’. The girl can fill in the picture of very
handsome young man with the inscription ‘My last boy-friend’.Everybody
would think,”What a cool boy!(girl)! I should meet her!”
5. Mini – darts
For playing darts at school you can make very easy target out of corks.
Cut out a ring out of cardboard and devide it in 8 segments. Take some corks and cut 33 cork rings 5 mm
thick out of them. Then glue the rings on the ring as it is shown in the
picture. One is in the center and 2 rings are on each rib of the
segment. Write the numbers on the rings with the marker. You should also
make mini-darts out of wooden sticks or toothpicks and pins. Good luck!
VI. Summary/Подведение итогов
T.: Today is a great day for us! You have presented your first
inventions. Probably they are not very fundamental but useful for
students and even teachers. All of you have demonstrated creativity,
ability to work in a team and a good sense of humour! Besides you tried
to evaluate your friends’ projects providing just arguments and trying
to express your own opinion. Thank you! Good job!
