The library of Congress in Washington D.C. is the national Library in the USA. When, in 1800, Congress bought the first volumes for 5.000 dollars, no one expected that it’ll grow into a treasure of 76 million objects. First all objects were gathered in the Capitol, but Congress decided to build a new building for its library. Congress required 16 years to select & approve a design.             The library of Congress owns musical instruments, for example 5 Stradivari violins (19), flutes (20).
