Ход урока
I. Организационный момент
- Today you will learn to differentiate and use the verbs "to
do" and "to make". As you know independent children try to earn
money themselves. That is why we will discuss how you can earn money.
II. Фонетическая разминка
- And as usual, we begin with pronunciation. Let's revise the tongue
twister you have learnt. Remind me any tongue twister you like. Come to the
blackboard and make all the pupils revise it.

заранее карточки с опорами.
III. Речевая разминка
- At home you learnt two verbs +- to do and to make. Open your books at
p. 107. Read the verbs in word combinations. Translate them. Do it in a chain.
- Learn to use the verbs. Open your workbooks
now. Do ex. 3 on p. 62 orally. Insert to do or to make where necessary.
Translate the sentences into Russian.

- Make up our own sentences with the verbs to do and to make. Let other
pupils translate them.
Примерный ответ:
My parents make me do my homework because it
helps us to remember the material better.
It isn't difficult to do the housework, but
I'm too lazy to do it.
The teacher asked us to do three exercises at
home.
It's time to do the shopping, the guests are
corning soon.
Mother said: "Bob, help your mum, do
washing."
You must do your best to become a successful
person.
Nick made a lot of mistakes in his last
dictation.
When your friend comes to you, you should
make him tea or coffee.
Shall make a phone call? - No, thanks. My
parents ask me to make my bed every morning. American children always have a
choice how to make money. Is it easy to make friends?
Nobody likes Nick; he always makes fun of
someone of our classmates.
- We know that American parents encourage
their children to be independent. What exactly do they to encourage them? (They
encourage them to choose their friends, to earn money, to spend their money.)
- What do you know about British parents and their children? Study ex. 65
on p. 108. Discuss it in pairs first.

- Are the British children in the same
situation as the American ones? (Yes, they are.)
- Now we are going to find out how British
teenagers earn their pocket money. But first let's have a rest. Stand up,
please.

- Read about how you can earn your pocket money. See ex. 66 on p. 108.
So, look at the pictures and say what British teenagers usually do to earn
their pocket money. (British teenagers usually teach computing, care for
domestic animals, train dogs, babysit or walk dogs to earn their pocket money.)
- What kind of job would you prefer? Begin
your answer with "As for me... "
— Read what the teenagers say about their jobs and match the texts and
the pictures.
Keys: 1. babysitting; 2. training dogs; 3. caring
for domestic animals; 4. walking dogs; 5. teaching computing.
— Now express your opinion about which of the
ways to earn the pocket money is the best. Use the questions as a plan. Think
for awhile.

I am going to teach computing (care for
domestic animals, train dogs, babysit or walk dogs). I am going to help old
people (parents who are busy to sit with their children; children). I think I
could do this work because I am good at computing (I like animals; I'm good
with dogs and easily make friends with them; I am good with children; I am
caring and responsible; I love dogs). I would like to start working during my
summer holidays. I haven't decided yet how I will spend my money, but I think I
shall buy a new computer game or a new fashionable sweater.
— Look through the texts again. Interview the
person who wrote it and write down five questions to him/her.

care for domestic animals, walk dogs or babysit)? Which of the jobs would you
like to do to earn your pocket money?
