Good morning boys and girls! I’m glad to see you. I hope you are OK.
II. Объявление цели урока.
Today we will speak about one of the most beautiful cities in the
world.
Do this puzzle and you’ll know the topic of our lesson.
- This country is situated in the southern hemisphere. The
territories of this country are the whole continent, the island of
Tasmania and number of smaller islands. Koala is the symbol of this
country. (Australia)
- This country is famous for its beautiful large lakes. Everybody
knows about a mysterious Loch Ness Monster. It is famous for its art
festivals, holidays, sport games, its national kilts and bagpipes. (Scotland)
- This country is situated on a group of islands lying in the
north-west part of the continent of Europe. It consists of 4 parts. The
head of the state is the Queen. (Great Britain)
- This country is called the "Upside down country”. Wellington is
the capital of the country. The flightless bird kiwi is the symbol of
the country. (New Zealand)
- The capital of the USA is … . (Washington)
- It is a federal state. There are two official languages in this
country: English and French. Its western coast is washed by the Pacific
Ocean and its eastern coast by the Atlantic Ocean. (Canada)

model of the dialogue from ex.23, page 68. Listen to the speaker and
repeat the sentences after him.
