Today we’ll continue to speak about the rules
of letter writing. During this lesson we’ll do some exercises which help you to
write letters correctly. You’ve already known some steps in writing letters. I
remind you some general rules: your letter must contain the asked amount of
words (100-140);you should write your letter in an informal way, you should
read the instruction attentively and follow the certain steps.

Task 1.
Put Love or Best Wishes,
followed by a comma.
Put Dear and the pen friend’s
first name, followed by a comma.
Write the address.
Say goodbye and tell the pen
friend to write back.
Make more suggestions and give
further advice.

When we write a letter, we need some
linking words. (Slide 4).in the first column you see such linking words.
Complete the words and phrases and then match them with their functions in the
letter. Let’s check in if we are right (slide 5)

I’ve already said today that we should write
our letters in an informal way. Can you rephrase these sentences in a more
informal way? There may be more than one possibility. (Slide 6)
