Ход урока
1student. Valentine’s Day is celebrated on February
14th as a festival of romance and affection. This happy holiday
celebrates friendship, love and romance. It’s a time to let all those
special people in your life know how much you like them. This is what
friendship is all about. And you can probably think of others who are
important to you- Moms and Dads, grandparents, sisters, brothers,
friends and teachers. Valentine’s Day is a good time to tell them how
you feel.
2 student. People send greeting cards called
"Valentine’s”, gifts to their friends, sweethearts. Many valentines have
romantic poems, some are humorous.
Who can tell better about love than poets. Thousands of poems,
sonnets, verses are devoted to this human sense. Beautiful, lyrical,
tender. They enrich our soul.
Today we’ll listen to the poems by W. Shakespeare, Robert Burns,
Shelley, Joyce, …You’ll admire their translations by Marshak,
Pasternak, Spal, made by our students. Try to understand the language
of the verses, their melody. Each poet put his soul, heart and his own
love into poems. Do your best to understand it.

Let me not to the marriage of true minds

1 student. W. Shakespeare is a master of love
stories. The beauty and ardour for young love are seen by him as the
irradiating glory of sunlight and starlight in a dark world. Stories of a
tender, passionate love finds an emotional response with the audience
in all countries.

1 student. Hearts are the most common romantic
symbol. Candy, cookies and even cakes are made in heart shapes for
valentine parties. Angels and children bless a happy marriage. Harps
and lyres play romantic music. One of the most famous symbols is Cupid
with his bow and arrow.
Now let’s play a game. ‘Make broken hearts’. Match two parts of a
heart and read a line from a poem about love. / приложение 1\ Игра

2 student. But the classic symbol of Valentine’s day
is considered to be red roses. According to the anciernt legend they
appeared thanks to Greek goddess of love and beauty. Afrodita was
hurrying to her sweetheart Adonis and stepped on a bush of white roses.
Her blood made them red.
1 student. A lot of poems were written about roses.
They are sentimental, sad, lyric. The poems celebrate love, affection
and friendship.

depicts the life he knew, his poems touch the heart and soul of every
reader. Byron wrote about the feelings of people. We understand his
tender lyricism. His poetry has sad colouring. It is beautiful. It’s
clearly seen in his poems about love. They are emotional, rich in
lyrical intonation.
