Ход урока
I. Организационный момент
- Today we will continue speaking about the tradition of having a
famil1y party. You work in pair and find out what traditions your friends families have.
II. Фонетическая разминка
- Let's revise the tongue twister you have learnt. Remind me any tongue
twister you like. Come to the blackboard and make all the pupils revise it.
К доске выходят 2-3 ученика
по очереди, которые выступят в роли учителя. Учитель может подготовить заранее
карточки с опорами. Например: repeat
after me, please. Recite the tongue twister slowly. Recite it in a
natural manner. Recite the tongue twister as quickly as you can.
III. Речевая разминка
- What attributes of different holidays can you name? (They are a
birthday cake, wedding rings, a wedding dress, cards, a New Year tree and
presents.)
- Do you usually have a birthday cake with candles on it? Do you make a
wish while blowing the candles? Have you ever been to a wedding party? What was
the wedding dress like? Do you usually decorate a New Year tree? What presents
do you get from your parents? What would you like to get as a New Year present?
IV. Развитие речи
- Do you want to learn more about family life
in Britain? Then complete the sentences in ex. 53, p. 105.

- Let's check up your homework. Open your
workbooks at p. 60. Report what John Fifty's favourite holiday is and how the
family celebrates it. (John Filby'sfavourite holiday is his Granny's birthday
because it's the day when all the members of his large family get together.
They buy and cook a lot of food. They lay a huge round table in the garden
under the old pear tree, and there is a lot of talking and laughing and
singing.)
- Let's have a rest now. Stand up, please.

- Let's continue. It's time for you to tell us about any traditional
family hoUdayyou like. Ex. 54onp. 106. There are some questions. You may use
them as a plan. Then report to the class.

One of the traditional family holidays
celebrated in Russia is New Year's Eve. It is celebrated on the 31st of
December. Close friends and relatives are usually invited for the holiday. The
traditional food for that holiday is different salads, pelmeni and Champaign.
On that day people give each other presents. Those maybe books, make-up or
clothes. When people celebrate this holiday they eat tasty food, dance, sing or
watch TV. After the clock strikes 12 they go for a walk to congratulate other
people.
- Work in pairs now and do the task of ex. 55 on p. 106. Read it
attentively. Is everything clear? Imagine that one of you is a journalist who
wants to ask a famous star (another pupil) about his or her family life. Make
notes while listening. Swap your roles. Then write a report about the
interview. (There are four (three,
five) members in his/her family. He/she has a
lot in common with his/her sister (brother). They like the samefood and the
same books. He/she often argues with his/her sister (brother) though he/she can
discuss his/herproblems with her (him). His/her mother's relatives come to see
them more often than the father's ones because they live too far from them,
they contact with their relatives who live in other place by phone or by
e-mail.)
- Hand in your papers. At home continue working on the theme.

- Have you learnt anything new about your
classmate's family? Have you got the same family traditions? What is your
favourite holiday? Why do you like it? That is all for the lesson. You may be
