Ход урока
I. Организационный момент
- At this lesson you will learn to give advice to your contemporaries.
Besides, you will learn about different meanings of the word "kind"
and try to use it in your speech.
II. Фонетическая разминка
- And as usual, we start with the pronunciation. Let's learn to
pronounce the words ending in "-ture". Open your workbooks at p. 54.
In ex. 1 you see such words. First of all complete the table. Use the
dictionary if you need.
Keys: temperature; furniture; adventure;
picture.
- Pronounce the words correctly. Repeat them
after me first. T-Ps.
- Now do it yourselves.

Complete the sentences with the expressions
from the box. There is one extra expression.

IV. Обучение чтению
- Last time we read the letters of some
teenagers who have the problems in their families and ask for help Angela, a
person who works for the magazine "SHOUT" and with whom they can
share the problems. Let's revise the texts. Open your books at p. 100. Look
through the letters. Say what problems Lena, Bill and Tracey have.
- Now read Angela's answers. Do the task of
ex. 31 onp. 101. Give a full answer. (Letter 1 is to Bill. Letter 2 is to
Tracey, and letter 3 is to Lena.)
- Look through the letters and say if you agree with my statements. Use
the expressions from the blackboard. Prove that you are right using the
examples from the text.

feeling.")
6. Angela advises Lena to talk to her teacher. (Yes, I quite agree here.
It is said in the text "talk to your teacher. If your teacher is happy
with your work and attitude she/he may talk to your parents.")

- We are going to write the answers to the
letters. That's why we need to learn more words. Today we learn to use the word
"kind" in its different meanings. See ex. 32 on p. 101. Read and
translate the sentences. Do it in a chain.

— Act out the dialogue. You are welcome.
— At home change the context of the dialogue and get ready to role play
it. For example, you could have a talk about books, TV programmes, magazines or
concerts.

Take your partners' letter and write an answer on Angela's behalf. After you
finish hand in your paper.

Dear Angela,
Can you help us? We are a friendly class. We
always try to do everything together: we go to museums, exhibitions; we visit
each other when somebody of our classmates is ill. And of course we like to
take part in different competitions. One of such competitions was held in our
school not long ago. But unfortunately we lost. You know there is one student
in our class who is lazy, unfriendly. He doesn't do his homework, he is rude to
the teachers, he often abuses us and bullies. We need advice as we are sick of
going through these problems every day.

There is nothing serious with your problem.
Your classmate is simply much younger than the others. He behaves like a little
kid as he seems to have some problems at home. Try to talk to him seriously and
find out what problems he has. Maybe he needs your help. Then give him a very
interesting job to make him feel responsible for it. Don't be angry if he
doesn't have a good result. Try to give him another task, be patient and you'll
be a success.
It's time to finish our lesson. Write down
your homework.
