I. Introduction.
Good day dear friends! We are going to record your first radio programme. Radio programme is a specific genre. And time is not free.
Besides the audience will not see you, no visual supports. Try to express yourself. The purpose of our radio programme is to attract listeners and get them interested. Please speak only English language.
Before we start our work let’s remember some useful tips:

"Popular Chuvash holidays”
 Teacher: You are working at a popular radio station. A group of English students are going to visit some national villages. So your aim is to attract them to your place. They hardly know anything about your traditions.
You are in air now.
The song "Chuvash people” starts this radio programme.
The host: Hello my friends! How are you getting on? My name is Maya. I think you are excited by the theme of our radio programme. Well let’s start then.
Chuvash holidays are dates back to the ancient time. Our first guest is the history expert. She tells us some information about Chuvash traditions.
The history expert: Good morning! There are many traditional Chuvash holidays. They are: "Аkаtui”, "Savarny”, "Surhury”, "Mankun”, "Semik” and others. The most popular Chuvash holiday is still "Аkаtui”. "Аkаtui” is a spring holiday of the Chuvash people, devoted to agriculture. This holiday unites a number of ceremonies and solemn rituals. In an old Chuvash life akаtui began before an output for spring field works and came to the end after the ending of sowing summer. The holiday proceeded the whole week. The host invited relatives and neighbours on the certain day. The rich table was covered to their arrival. Nowadays this holiday includes rewarding leaders of manufacture, concerts of amateur and professional art collectives, competitions in modern kinds of sports, food fairs, etc.
The host: Thank you for your story! Now I’d like to invite another guest Miss "Chuvash Piki” Tatyana Ivanova. I know you like national holidays. What is you favourite national holiday?
 Miss "Chuvash Piki”: I want to open my secret. I like "Mankun” most of all. The matter is I like fairy tales and this holiday is connected with something magic. Early in the morning on the day of approaching "Mankun” children run out to watch the sunrise on a lawn from the village. Together with children there are also old people. They tell children ancient fairy tales and legends about struggle of the sun with a malicious witch Vupar.
The host: To tell the truth I have never heard about this interesting fact. Thank you, Tatyana. I have a pleasant surprise for Chuvash teenagers. Our next guest is the famous Chuvash pop singer Lazar.
The famous national pop singer: Hi everybody! If you ask me about my favourite holiday I’ll name
"Surhury”. This national holiday of New Year is coincided with Christian Christmas. During its celebrating ryazhenye enter each house in the evening; they play every possible comic scene. Most of the young people try to foresee their future and find out what changes expect them in New Year.
It is not necessary to sleep on a New Year's Eve. Therefore the youth has fun till the morning. At daybreak fun is splashed out on streets. It’s the best time for finding your second half.
 The host: Now I think it’s high time to invite a social researcher Irina Cuzmina.
 The social researcher: I’ve got some statistics about young people’s keeping Chuvash traditions. Young people like to celebrate "Uyav”, "Surhury”, "Savarny”, "Аkаtui” and others. They like these holidays very much because they can meet their friends or simply have a good time at home.
